Customizing Your Google Docs Background
Choosing a Gradient Fill
To customize the background of your Google Docs document, click the Background pop-up menu and select Gradient Fill. Then, click the color wells below Background and choose colors. To preview colors on the page, touch and hold a color and then drag across the grid. Release your finger to select a color.
Removing Image Backgrounds
If you've pasted an image from the internet or another file and it has a background that you don't want, you can remove it automatically in 5 seconds with just one click. To do this, tap a blank spot on the document and then tap the Format button on the top right. In the pop-up, tap Background. If the image has a background, you'll see a Remove background button. Tap it to remove the background.
